A good friend of Shannon's from working at the hospital offered to take Layla's newborn photo's as a gift. She captured a few great pictures between Layla's fussy hours and it happened to be the week she wasn't feeling well also. The combination of a great photographer and a BEAUTIFUL baby can be seen here warephotography.blogspot.com

Furry Friends
Layla spent the morning on her first trip to the Zoo with cousin Finn. She of coarse slept through most of it but it was good for her to experience some new sounds and smells, along with fresh air and fun with the animals. She finally woke up for the train ride and seamed to love it! She liked the squawking birds and the giraffes but wasn't too hot on the elephants. Sound asleep in her cradle after a full tummy from lunch.

Three big weeks
Layla had her first big swimming experience at Grandpa and Nana's house over the weekend. She pretty much slept through the entire event. She's just that comfortable in the water. But she did look stunning in her little swimming suite.
Sunday afternoon naps in Daddy's hands.

Two weeks and growing
Layla seems to be getting use to all the attention and she surly loves how many people constantly comment on how beautiful she is. Just when you think she can't get any cuter, she does.
She's a big fan of bath time and a warm fuzzy towel after
She has a best friend that loves to watch over her and lay by her bed even when she's fast asleep.
An yes, packed inside her cute little body are some very nice lungs.
Tomorrow is another big day for Layla. She has a swimming date with mom and dad, a few nephews and some neighborhood friends. Stay tuned.

From California to Utah
I think Layla has a future in traveling. She seemed to handle all the transitions in the past few days like a champ. From Modesto to Sacramento, from Sacramento to Utah. She's now cozy in her very own crib, eating and sleeping well and being loved on by her fan club.
Layla's first flight was great. Shan wrapped a blanket around her head to muffle the noise and gave her a binky. She slept nearly the entire flight.
It felt great to be back home and settled in. We posed on the porch for a quick family photo then it was off to bed for everyone.
The young men from Kevin's Deacon's Quorum made a poster for the garage.
Settled right in.

On her way home
July 13, Layla got a nice bath and a fresh new outfit for her big day. The doctor was pleased with her progress and gave us the green light to head home. Our stay at the hospital was quite nice. The entire hospital staff was very accommodating and always attentive to Layla's needs.
Ready to roll
Layla's best friends were also excited to get out of the hospital and see the real world.
Shan and I said good by to our wonderful accommodations and sunny Modesto. It's been time well spent.
