Outdoor Retailer Show

Last weekend Kevin's cycling team was a part of the Annual Outdoor Retailer Show and so we decided to bring Layla along. She LOVES to be outdoors and we figured it's never too early to get her hooked on camping gear and all the cute necessities for being an active outdoor adventuress.

Layla got her first backpack. She plans on using it to pack her snacks and bottles to her first bike races of 2010. (which the season will be starting soon!)

Busy Little Lady Bug Part 2 of 4

Soooo Sorry for the lack of postings this month! As you all know, it's been a busy month and more importantly a VERY SPECIAL MONTH. Our cups runneth over with joy after being Sealed in the Bountiful Temple. Layla was perfect, beautiful and PERFECT! She looked so peaceful and happy and we couldn't have imagined a more spiritual and tender moment. The spirit was VERY strong throughout the entire day and Layla was clearly aware of where she was and why she was there. We will post a few more pictures as we get them from the photographer. These are just a few of what we've received so far.

We'll write more details about the special day in our monthly update... as we'd like to keep her special and spiritual moments private from the www. Hope you'll understand. We love you all.

Busy little Lady Bug

Trying to catch our breath and pull our thoughts and emotions back in order with all the events of last week. It was plenty busy but couldn't have gone better. On Monday, both Shan's family and my family gathered at the County Courthouse for the finalization to be settled. It was my first real experience in the court room in front of a judge and even though we were there on good terms, I found myself a bit nervous. Thankfully Layla kept her cool and continued to charm us all with her bright eyes and beautiful smile. Everything seemed to go without a hitch.


The masses of our Utah family managed to gather for a quick photo. Moments before, the kids were running wild through the courthouse.


On Saturday, our family and a few of our closest friends joined us at the Temple as Layla was sealed to our family for time and all eternity. It was another wonderful and very emotional event that couldn't have taken place without the the love and support by numerous friends and family from Utah to California. There was definitely a unique spirit that accompanied Layla the entire day. We're so very grateful to all of you who have supported and shown your love for Layla, over the past six months. We are very blessed to have you all in our lives and love you very much.

After the ceremony we had a photographer take a few photos of Layla and the family. As soon as we get them we'll post them up here.

Sit'n'spin

Layla is starting to sit all by herself! It only lasts for about 3 seconds and then she gets so excited she falls over. :) But she loves it!

Almost....

GRRR. We almost pulled a serious comeback in the 4th...... Good Effort LH. :(

1/2 birthday!!!!

LADY BUG LAYLA IS 6 MONTHS OLD TODAY!

Happy 1/2 birthday to you little one! We can't believe how much you've grown in just 6 short months. You did great at the doctor today until they gave you your immunizations. You

were not a fan, to say the least. It reminded me of your first few days in the hospital when they had to keep starting new IV's. We were there to comfort you and cuddle you with a warm bottle and lots of loves. You're such a brave and strong little lady.

We've got lots of plans for your 1/2 birthday.... cuz who can wait a full year for a birthday party to come around? Not you!

Weight: 16.6 lbs 58th percentile

Length: 27 in 90th percentile

Head circumference: 42.75 cm. 60th percentile

GOING GREEN

GREAN BEANS... that is!

On JANUARY 1ST 2010 Layla ate her first solid food. Per MD recommendations we started her on veggies first. GREEN BEANS to be specific. She wasn't a big fan. But she found it entertaining to watch mom and dad cheer loudly with cameras in hand. We are so proud of her and we're also very aware of what total nerds we are for getting so excited over such normal baby things. :)

CHRISTMAS 2009

Sorry for the late post about Christmas. We enjoyed every second of the Holiday season with Layla and Christmas was very special.

Layla was showered with love and gifts to celebrate her special spirit that has blessed our family.

All the big girls got what every girl wants... a pony.

Layla didn't get a big one, rather, one just her size!

She loves to scoot around the house on it as we push her and it plays horsey noises that make her smile.

She also got a Madam Alexander doll named after her birth-name. Mei. Only 110 of them were made and it was a lovely gift that she'll cherish as she grows up.
