THE LOOK....

(yes that's her true eye color... no photoshop done here. I told you, indescribable. Turquoise if you will...)

Layla is getting more and more mischievous with this crawling gig.
She loves to give us "the look" right before she heads out on an adventure.
Adventures that almost always end up with her stuck in a fix she wiggled into and can't get out of without a little help. :)
Then we laugh together and she takes off again with a little wiggle in her tail.

SO SO SO SO SO SORRY!!!!

SERIOUSLY SO SORRY.
WE'RE SO BEHIND!

It's a LOT crazy around here. We're TRYING not to have meltdowns... but Mom's the Church Girls Camp Director and we're leaving for camp in 6 hours - And I really didn't want to wear a bow in my hair today.

So we were supposed to mail the update letters and send pictures a few weeks ago... And because mom also got a new calling in the Relief Society Presidency,
We've sort of fallen asleep on the job.

Because I'm so cute.... will you please hold tight until I get back from Girls Camp with Mom?
THEN I PROMISE PROMISE PROMISE TO MAKE IT UP TO YOU....
LOTS of pictures in the update letters!
HUGS TO YOU ALL!
thanks for putting up with my crazy mom!

PINASCO'S THIS ONE'S FOR YOU!

Correct us if we're wrong... but this baby has some SERIOUS ITALIAN in her. She will eat spaghetti until she's about to explode. She love love loves it! And that little booty of hers... she's got some "junk in the trunk."
Ya. Love it.

PS. CHECK OUT THE 1 YEAR STATS ON THE RIGHT SIDE COLUMN.

BIRTHDAY BASH 2010

LADY TURNS 1
HERE'S HOW IT WENT...

Kevins mom and I made a BAZILLION (150... well 145 after we each ate a few) cupcakes

Then we decorated them all fancy like. Some even had fresh homemade lemon curd and strawberry icing.

I made a bunch of these super easy Pom-Poms to hang in the trees

Like that. And we had lights in the sky hung... for ambiance

Then Kevin accidently cut his leg... thanks to my mom for taking him to get 15 stitches, 30 min before the party.  (ya, that purple stuff is muscle, and that cut is about 3 inches long)

Don't fret. He made it back in time and looked super cute-to boot

After a little nap, diaper change and some dinner... Lady-bug made an appearance at her party. She wore 3 outfits. First, her cupcake casual wear (worn throughout the day)
Second, her cupcake gingham dress (worn at the party pre-cake eating) that Grammy purchased months ago
Third, after wearing her birthday suit to eat cake in, she wore another cupcake number that Nana got her.

D-lishous slider burgers and sides were served.
And the Pinata was a HIT. Literally. Ha!

The kidlettes reaped the benefit of the pinata

We sang. I cried. What else is new?

Layla daintily tested her first sweets. Her very own gigantuan cupcake

A party isn't a PARTY without sparklers... and not one single burn

Layla tested out her new chair and watched the 10 min video montage we made documenting her first year.

We enjoyed the moments and know that we're so lucky

And I think Lady did too.

Hmmm.... Only 357 days 10 hours and 30 min to plan the next party.
I best get crackin

4th OF JULY 2010

Layla celebrated the nations birthday in typical "Day Family" style.... over the top!

Started with Grammy teaching her how to wave at the parade

Grandpa's Girls

Mom and Layla watched for dad's float

Dad made a special stop for his special girl!

It was hot so we went swimming at Nana's.... in our special 4th of July swimsuit.

Then we changed into our evening wear and headed down to the fireworks, where Layla showed off her newest trick. Standing up all by herself!

Then we snuggled down on the blanket and enjoyed the show. Layla LOVED the fireworks. She just relaxed and snuggled on our laps.

IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. LAYLA HAD A BLAST AND THE COUSINS COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF HER! They all stood in line to hold her and they can't wait to give her birthday presents. Hope you're all celebrating and enjoying your families too.

P.S UPDATE LETTERS WILL BE LATE THIS MONTH! WE WANTED TO INCLUDE STORIES AND PICTURES OF LAYLA'S BIRTHDAY PARTY.
THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING!!!

Happy Independence Day

We're off to the parade! Dad's going to be on a parade float for his bike shop!
Then swimming at Nana's and a BBQ at Grammy's
Then face painting - baby races - and all the other fun family activities
And finishing it off with the fireworks tonight!

Enjoy your holiday :)
Love,
Layla
