DADDY DAUGHTER DATES

We've been taking Layla on little dates every week to make sure she's getting a lot of one on one time with us. She's at such a fun age and it's so much fun to spend time with her.

We've been playing outside in the snow....

Dad's been taking Layla on bike rides... they talk about all the things they see and discover new paths together.

And at the end of the day... she's spent. We took this photo last night after we went to the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival at the Gateway Mall in SLC. She loved the lights and all the Christmas spirit. She slept right through us bringing her in from the car and putting her pj's on..... So cute! And so big!!!

2011 HALLOWEEN PERFECTION

This year was perfection. Layla is the essence of perfection... minus her "terrible two" expected tantrums :)
Watching her run up the streets, her sweet voice echoing the older children saying "twick ow tweet" made our hearts tingle. She loved donning her witch costume and wore it most the night. She enjoyed every minute of being a big girl and going out with Kevin and I and her cousins to get candy and play games. She stood in awe of the pumpkins and wanted to stay outside with Grandpa all night and look at them over and over. She would say "Oh so cute!" or "that's a spooky one!" She embraced the Halloween spirit and soaked up every minute of three day long party... while we sat back and soaked up how blessed our little family is.
We can't believe how much our hearts are filled with her spirit and we feel so lucky that every single detail of what we imagined life with a little girl would be... has been. And then some.

IT'S JUST THE BEGINNING!

The Halloween Extravaganza 2011 has begun! We're 48 hours into it and the party is just getting started!

We spent all day Saturday cleaning out over 100 pumpkins... and all day Sunday carving them out

But Layla Bug was more interested in eating Caramel Popcorn :)

She was super proud to show off her works of art....
And the party has really just begun!

Here's a teaser of her custom costume. She LOVES it!

More soon to follow!

MEANT TO BE???

Layla's little brother arrived on Monday August 29, 2011
Close in size to Layla's birth size!
7 lbs 6 oz, 20.5 inches

Baby Rider Day
Check out the resemblance of Layla on the top left and Rider on the bottom right! They look like they're meant to be brother and sister! So darling.

Layla is adjusting better than expected and she loves being a helpful big sister. She carries her baby doll around and practices feeding it while mommy feeds baby brother. Rider has been leaving Layla a gift in her bed each morning since he's been here and she loves to wake him up and tell him thank you for her new book.
We can't get over how similar they look as babies! And we feel so blessed that Layla has been given the blessing of a sibling to grow close to.
Love to you all
