NEVER TOO SOON FOR A TUTU

HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA 2009

We're busy this morning gearing up for this years "Day Family Halloween Extravaganza." Lots of pictures, stories and blogging is coming your way.

SWEET 16 weeks

Could this robe and this Lady bug be any cuter!

Her new new thing is humming all the time. She loves humming at the faces of the book that Grandma Cindy gave her. It's the sweetest sound.

And her signature..... smile:)

Layla's 16 week Stats:

She has her 4 month doctors appointment on November 9th.

She's eating every 4 hours and isn't very hungry in the mornings. She'd rather gulp down the big bottles in the late afternoon and evening. Layla is loving her new bedtime routine that includes a bath, lotion massage, PJ's, singing primary songs and reading a short book. She goes to bed around 7:30-8:30 pm and she's still sleeping through the night (except last night, she woke up and talked to herself from 4-5 am). It was cute. She's really close to rolling over from her tummy to her back. She partly rolls from her back to her side (we'll post a video.) She still hold back her full laugh and only really giggles when she's really excited. Her tummy problems have settled down a lot since she's been eating Similac Sensitive formula which is milk based but Lactose Free. She still has to be swaddled tightly in order to fall asleep because otherwise she wiggles too much and can't settle down. She loves to snuggle with her new bunny blanket and pulls it up to her face. She's growing up so fast!

She's This Long

In response to the comment that was left on the previous post, Layla and I decided to document a few measurements while mommy was making dinner. Now, when ever you come across some of these objects, you can put them together and see for your self.

Layla is as long as: 6 cans of Chicken Noodle soup or 5 1/2 CD's

Layla is as long as: 3 1/2 Strings of pasta or 8 Post-It notes.

Layla is as long as: 5 Party napkins or 3 water bottles.

Layla is as long as: 4 Dollar bills or 3 1/2 spoons.

Layla is as long as: 4 Diapers or 3 of Daddy's sketch books.

Layla is as long as: 30 Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal bits.

If you're not the visual type and like numbers better... She's about 24" long.

15 Wonderful Weeks

Lady Bug is now about twice the length of her favorite teddy bear! Every week she seems to grow rounder and then just when I think her little belly is going to pop, she grows longer! So she still fits into most of her 0-3 clothing... but not for long!

10 fingers

Layla is developing her fine motor skills and really practicing her new favorite descovery. Her 10 little fingers.

14 WEEKS!

Layla loves her new BUMBO chair. Still gets really tired after a few minutes of holding her head up but loves to be able to sit up and enjoy the view! Isn't that SMILE the greatest!?

Pumpkin Patch 2009

Kevin's family goes overboard for most all holidays. But most of all, they go overboard on Halloween. Day family Halloween traditions include: planting their own pumpkin patch in the spring, all the grandkids collecting the truck load of (125) pumpkins on the first saturday of fall, the grandkids each guess how many pumpkins will grow each year and the one closest wins $5.00, extreme pumpkin carving for the pumpkin show, spending a lot of time at Grammy and Grampy's house, picking out a costume and pair of PJ's to wear after the costume, and eating yummy treats in the shape of Halloween fun, and trick or treating with the family.

TWELVE TWENTY NINE A.M

Layla is officially 3 months old. What a beautiful three months it's been for her. We will never be able to thank everyone who has been a part of her life with us. She is a miracle, from the first few rough days she spent in the NICU, to the plane ride to Utah and now to her 3 month birthday. An absolute miracle. She will always know of how cherished she is by everyone of you... no matter where you are. Happy 3 month birthday Little Lady!

FEELING BETTER
